The top individual of the three will receive an additional award and monetary prize. Superior Graduate Faculty winners will be recognized at the GSA Banquet at the end of the 2012 spring semester.
How are Awardees Selected?
Each department selects one outstanding graduate faculty member. It is up to the individual departments to decide how nominees are selected. For example, one department might hold a special meeting to vote on who should be nominated for this award while another department might tally votes by email. All faculty nominees are considered Outstanding Graduate Faculty awardees.
The Superior Faculty Award
After each department nominates a faculty member, the Graduate Student Association will then choose three faculty members from the nominated to award a special award, called the Superior Faculty Award. The nominations for this special award are based on the quality of the departmental nominations. These three exceptional recipients of the Superior Graduate Achievement Award will be invited to the GSA banquet at the end of the 2012 semester.
