Both outstanding graduate students and graduate faculty will be acknowledged at the annual GSA banquet. Nominations for SGAA and Superior Graduate Faculty Awards are due at the next GSA meeting (Tuesday, March 11). Check with your department's GSA representative to find out how to nominate worthy peers or advisors.
It's almost time to elect GSA officers for the 2008-2009 school year. Find out the duties of each officer by reading the GSA Constitution or officer testmonials. Self-nomination forms can be submitted to the GSA officers.
Graduate Education Week, sponsored by the Graduate School, is April 14-19. Also check out their website for more professional development activities.
Check out the Facebook group being sponsored by GSA. Search for "Mizzou Graduate Students" and join us in keeping up with other students!
There are several important changes to the application process for GSA travel grants. Starting this semester, GSA travel grants will no longer be evaluated and awarded on a continual basis. The process has been streamlined and applications will now be reviewed three times a year. Thus, application deadlines for travel grants have changed. Please see the travel grants page for more information.
New departmental representatives to GSA should check the representative page to ensure they are listed. You should also be receiving e-mails from the GSA listserv, gsa-annouce@po.missouri.edu.
If your department is not listed, or if your department does not have a representative declared, please consider serving your department as a representative. Contact Secretary Kate Hertweck with any corrections or concerns regarding the website or listserv.
